Hydraulic Grounding Spike
For Underground Cable

Used for grounding and draining a cable after it has been de-energized and
before contact is made by hand. Each assembly has a 30-foot (9.15 m) insulated hydraulic hose and a hand-operated hydraulic pump. The ground lead is 6 feet (1.83 m) long, 1/0 insulated copper cable with a clamp (Cat. No. 760001C) for connection to a local system ground. Cat. Nos. 17150063 and 17150066 have blades that will make contact with all three conductors of the sector cable. All spikes have a fault duty of 17 kA and meet ASTM F-855 Grade 2 specifications. A bag is included with Cat. Nos. and 1715 and 17150063. Cat. No. 17150066 includes a storage box.

Hand-Operated Grounding Spike
For Underground Cable

Used for grounding and draining a cable after it has been de-energized and
before contact is made by hand. The clamp is adjustable for cable 1" (2.5 cm) to 31/2" (8.9 cm) in diameter. The spike is internal to the clamp and can be remotely screwed into the cable or a terminal with an insulated stick or shotgun (fiberglass clampstick). The ground lead is 6 feet (1.83 m) long, 1/0 insulated copper cable with a clamp (Cat. No. 760001C) for connection to a local system ground. The spike has a fault duty of 17 kA and meets ASTM F-855 Grade 2 specifications. Bag is included.

Spike/Blade Ground Lead

Makes contact with the center conductor during the temporary grounding of underground distribution cable with jacket over concentric neutral.
Spike/blade clamp (Cat. No. 7320SP or 7620SBGA) main-line capacity is 2 1/2" (6.3 cm). C-type ground clamp (Cat. No. 760001C) fits conductors from #6 to 1.5" (3.8 cm). Each set includes a 6-foot (1.83 m) length of #2 copper clear-jacket ground cable. Meets ASTM F-855 Grade 1 specifications. Maximum fault duty is 14.5 kA for 15 cycles. Other lengths are available. Bag (Cat. No. B1715) not included.

Padmount Grounding Cluster

Designed for grounding de-energized conductors in padmount transformers. The cluster is made of No. 2 stranded cable with three 4 foot (1.22 m) leads for grounding the conductors, and one 4-foot (1.22 m) lead to attach to a ground rod or to the cabinet. The ground heads are equipped with grip-alls for use with a “shotgun.” This set is rated at 9.5 kA for 20 cycles. Protective bag is not included.

Padmount Switch Hook

Designed to operate the secondary switch on a padmount transformer. Also used as a standard switch hook for cutouts.

Grip All with Socket

The socket has spring-loaded ball bearings that will hold a 600 amp plug during installation or removal.

Bushing Insert and Removal Tool

Installs and removes 15 kV through 35 kV loadbreak bushing inserts when de-energized. The strap of the tool wraps directly around the bushing in the direction designated to either loosen or tighten the insert, eliminating the need to tighten or loosen by hand. When using the tool to insert a bushing, care should be taken not to over-torque. Removal of silicone on the bushing surface is recommended before using this tool.

Underground Spanner Wrench

Designed for installing and removing the connector bushing, and reducing bushing inserts. Can be used when the conductor is de-energized, but not grounded. The tool is used one way for installation, and turned over for removal. A universal toggle and spring is used with this tool and should be ordered separately (Cat. No. 5900Q).

Plug Installing Tool

Used to install or remove 600 amp reducing plugs.

Fuse Holder NX Sand Type

Holds the NX loadbreak fuse when installing fuse in mounting bracket. Tool cocks spring loaded sleeve and closes fuse. Works as switch hook for opening or closing the loadbreak, and fits well on the two sizes of loadbreak fuses. No other tools required.
